


Your English hosts Dianne and Ken welcome you to a French experience where you can enjoy good food, fine wine and a warm friendly atmosphere.
Our 12th century farmhouse has been tastefully adapted whilst still retaining many of it's original features such as exposed oak beams.
It is situated in its own grounds with panoramic views over the open countryside yet is only a few minutes walk from the centre of Courlay with all its amenities such as bars, shops, fishing lake and picnic area.

Chinon, with it's historic Chateaux and town and many wine producers and caves.
La Venice Vert -
the Green Venice. View the tranquil landscape of canals and trees
from the water on a punt. Walk or cycle on the many towpaths.
Vouvant - the historic town of Vouvant and the forest surrounding Vouvant and Mervant for walking, horse riding, picnics and drives.
Within one and a half hours drive:
La Rochelle - Visit
this historic port, sample the local seafood and explore the
beautiful sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast.
La Tranche Sur Mer, La Faute Sur Mer, Aguillon
Sur Mer - White sandy beaches and
pine forests for picnics. (Where the locals go).
Futuroscope - the famous cinematic theme park.
Nearer to home are two major attractions:
The Puy de Fou -
the grand parcours is a full day of medieval pageantry. A
wonderfull day out for all ages. The cinescene (son et lumiere), takes
place at
weekends and is unique in the world.
Pescalis - This is the largest fishing complex in Europe with 100 hectares of lakes.
Wine - we are ideally situated in between the Loire and Anjou wines to the north, the Muscadet to the west and the Bordeaux vineyards are south of this region.
Markets - each day of the week except Sunday there is a market being held at one of the local towns.
Golf - excellent golf courses can be found at Cholet, Angers, and Mazieres en Gatine.
Walking,
cycling, bird watching - gently undulating countryside ideal for walking
and cycling. Many birds including birds of prey.
