With 5 bedrooms set over 3 floors, a beautiful oak beamed cottage in the rolling landscape of the northern Dordogne.

Fully equipped kitchen, satellite UK TV, private gardens, private use of pool.

Centrally located for a host of outdoor activities, the river Loue is only a 2-minute walk away!

All the bedrooms are oak floored, bright and decorated in the Perigordian style.

Spacious kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, fridge, toaster, kettle and all cutlery, plates and tea towels.

The floor is tiled throughout with terracotta to keep it cool in summer and the log burner is good for the cooler days.

Two bathrooms. The main bathroom is on the first floor and there is an additional shower room with WC on the ground floor.

A cot and high chair can be supplied if required.

There is also a BBQ for alfresco dining.

Close to horse riding, hiking, canoeing, potholing, caving, sightseeing. Located just outside the ancient town of Excideuil, about 1 hour drive from Limoges airport and 1 hour from Perigueux.

The nearby town of Excideuil has a large supermarket, petrol station, Thursday market day, host of general shops and lots of bars and cafe's.

This area is steeped in ancient history, with Richard the Lionheart and his love, Eleanor of Aquitaine having stayed at the local chateau.

The massive chateau of Hautefort is only a 10-minute drive away; this is the most photographed chateau in France.

Most towns in the area have colourful market days, all are easily accessible from here, even in high summer there is hardly any traffic and a jam is a rarity.

The Pre-historic caves of the region are about a 40-minute drive from here, where you can see some of the earliest evidence of European human existence, and there are also dinosaur footprints nearby in the river bed.

You will be spoilt for choice with restaurants, bars and cafes. You will be in the heart of Pate de Fois Gras, veal and Truffle country, also there is an abundance of vineyards from which to stock up from.

The countryside here is quite spectacular! You can tour the whole Dordogne from here and return to tranquillity and a cool dip in your own exclusive pool!

During the rest of the year the Gite may be available at £500 per week, heating extra.
