Lacombe
is a delightful old double-storey farmhouse set in seven acres of land
that borders the river Lot. It has private access to the River Lot.
Lacombe is situated in
the south west of France in the Lot-et-Garonne department near the village
of Ste Livrade, which is only a couple of minutes away by car.
The village market is held
every Friday where the local farmers sell their fruit and vegetables,
wines, cheeses, flowers and loads of other homemade goodies!
Lacombe is approximately 40 minutes south of Bergerac in the Dordogne,
90 minutes drive from either Bordeaux and Toulouse airports and only 10
minutes from the market town of Villeneuve on the river Lot.
Interior facilities:
The house has four large
comfortable double sized bedrooms and sleeps eight people. A baby cot
can also be provided upon request.
The bedrooms are decorated
to a high standard in a French/African style. Three bedrooms are located
on the upper floor, one of which is an ensuite with its own private access.
There is also a bathroom with bath, shower and WC available. On the lower
floor is the fourth double bedroom, as well as a separate cloakroom with
WC and basin.
The kitchen is fitted with
all modern appliances such as American fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and
has a large dining table that seats eight comfortably. The lounge has
comfortable sofas for you to relax on, as well as satellite TV, video
and DVD player, which CDs can be played on.
Double doors lead onto
the rear shaded terrace, ideal for those hot summer afternoons!
Exterior facilities:
The second terrace is situated
on the south side of the house by the enclosed garden and has sunshine
all day. It leads to the enclosed private pool area with sun loungers,
table and chairs and BBQ facilities.
Board games, videos, DVDs and table tennis are available at no extra charge.
There is private access to the river. Large carp and trout are to be found
in the river for those who like to fish and a handy fishing shop for bait
and equipment is located in the nearby village of Ste Livrade. If you
prefer to sightsee on the river, a canoe is available for your use.
Lacombe is superb for families
with children, however, please be aware that the river front is not fenced
off from the house, so care should be taken with small children.
