The Cevennes - a wild region where rock and water unite - characterised by its forested, breath-taking landscape - blessed with a Mediterranean climate.

9th Century monks first settled here, introducing the vast chestnut forests which are still very much part of the landscape here today.

Later followed the silk farming industry, which can be seen in museums in the region.

The Cevennes could be nicely described as a land of nature, agriculture and gastronomy. A part of France still undiscovered by commercial tourism and thus retaining its original charm.
