The gites are set in about 2.5 acres of gardens and have views over unspoilt farmland. All have their own private patio, patio furniture and barbeque, but quests can all use the rest of the grounds. All gites have a microwave, washing machine, fridge, TV DVD player and a hi-fi, garden furniture and barbecues. We have the 4 cottages to let: Apple Tree Cottage - (sleeps 2) The ground floor consists of a lounge with granite walls and exposed oak beams and a large granite fireplace with a woodburner, a separate kitchen with vaulted ceilings and patio doors to the garden. On the first floor there is a large open plan double bedroom with granite walls and exposed oak beams and en-suite shower room. |

| Plum Tree Cottage - (sleeps 4) The ground floor has a lounge/kitchen dining area with a wood burning fire and exposed stonewalls and oak beams. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, which sleep 4 people - 1 double room and a room with bunk beds, there is also a separate shower room. Pear Tree Cottage - (sleeps 8) The ground floor consists of an open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area with a woodburner, granite walls and exposed beams plus double doors that open on to a covered veranda. The first floor has a shower room and 4 bedrooms - 2 double rooms, 1 with an en-suite, a twin-bedded room and 1 room with bunk beds.

La Basse Rouerie is located in a small village called Melle which is situated on the Brittany/Normandy borders. In this area you can spend days on the magnificent beaches called the Emerald Coast, visit walled towns or just walk through the loveley countryside, something for everyone. Melle is about an hour's drive from the port of St Malo. This is an excellent place to spend time, with a walled town and miles of sandy beaches. Also within an hour's drive you have Mont St Michel, the second most visited place in France after the Eiffel Tower. The large towns of Rennes, Dinan and Domfront are also worth a visit. Half and hour's drive will take you to the walled town of Fougeres with its chateau, St Hilaire a lively market town and Mortain known for its waterfalls. Melle is only 10 minutes away from the American War Cemetery at St James.
