Perched on a limestone outcrop ( Le Pech), at the summit of the hill-top vilage of Montlauzun, "Le Pech" dominates the ridge which separates the Tartuguié and Lendou valleys in the heart of the "Quercy Blanc" region on the border of the Lot and the Tarn-et-Garonne.

The prominent position of our gîte on the slopes of Montlauzun allows you to make the most of the exceptional views over the two valleys including the 16th century "Chateau de Charry" beautifully lit-up at dusk and the 12th century church of Rouillac.

All around the hill can be seen vineyards which produce Coteaux de Quercy wine and Chasselas de Moissac eating grapes, orchards of cherry, plum, peach and hazlenuts, crops of cereals, rape seed and sunflowers engorged with sunshine and the big limestone plateaux with their specific flora and fauna.

Across this beautiful countryside and at the foot of Montlauzun, the G.R.65 passes by. This hiking path is part of the renowned Middle Age pilgrimage still walked today towards Saint-James of Compostella in Northern Spain.

Le Pech" is a typical Lotois house built of white stone with a pink tiled roof. It is situated in the heart of the countryside, 10km from MONTCUQ (Lot) with its bathing lake and sandy beach and 12th century 'Donjon', and 7km from LAUZERTE (Tarn-et-Garonne), a stunning bastide village classed as one of the most beautiful in France. These medieval vilages with their colourful local markets are full of charm.

Le Pech comprises 80m² of living space all on ground level with one or two steps between some rooms. The entrance leads from the veranda into the kitchen or into the living/ dining area. The East-facing veranda is equipped with outdoor table and chairs for al fresco mealtimes. Start the day with a smile by having breakfast in the sunshine!

The terrace area is furnished with chairs, loungers and a barbecue. It provides the ideal spot for relaxation and contemplation whilst admiring the beautiful views.

An exterior staircase leads from the courtyard into a well-kept and secluded garden and lawn area from where you can see for miles but no one can see you!

The fully fitted kitchen with breakfast area is equipped with multifunction oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and all smaller electrical appliances necessary for every day comfort.

The living/dining room has a traditional 'cantou' style open fireplace, a sofa bed and armchair, TV and video, chess table and other games and a dining area. The on site library includes plenty of tourist information, books of local interest, walking maps. There is a direct passage between the kitchen and the sitting/dining room via the veranda.

The Master Bedroom has a king-size bed (160cm) and country style dark pine furniture. There is a library in one corner. Both bedrooms measure over 20m². The Twin Bedroom is decorated with honey coloured pine furnishings and has double French windows opening directly onto the terrace. Bedroom walls are decorated with oil paintings, prints, wall hangings and mirrors.

The Bathroom is equipped with a small bath, shower, vanity unit and WC. The washing machine is situated in one corner of the bathroom.

The cottage has full oil central heating for out of season lets and the chimney flue of the open fireplace contains a heat recuperating system for optimal efficiency.

Baby equipment such as cot, highchair, pen, baby carrier are available on request.
