Whether you are seeking miles of golden sand and crystal clear blue seas or tiny fishing hamlets clinging to the sides of cliffs the South coast of Brittany can offer them all. Also less than an hours drive away are the cosmopolitan resorts of Carnac and Trinitie-sur-mer where us mere mortals can walk miles of marina and ogle the luxurious yachts of the well heeled! Whilst down at Carnac there is the worlds biggest collection of Mesolithic standing stones all in all these stretch for 27 kilometres. For me the greatest gem is the sheer natural beauty of the Gulf of Morbihan with its safe tideless beaches, nature reserves little uninhabited islands and the most fantastic seafood in the whole of France.

Weekly rental from £135 (low) to £295 (peak) - Holiday Gite

Joddwallgate is a beautifully renovated house in the centre of the small, friendly farming village of Kerfourn in Southern Brittany. The house has been carefully and lovingly restored.

The village is delightful and is situated in the Department of Morbihan in South Central Brittany, it is extremely quiet and offers minimal but adequate local services. There is a Boulangerie within smelling distance, a small general store and a bar within ‘crawling distance’. In addition there is a pretty local church, pitches for boules and a Mairie.

Less than half a mile away there is a well stocked trout and course lake where you can fish all day for £2.50. Fishing tackle is available to borrow at no charge. Bikes are available.

Pontivy is a fairly large town some 5 miles away and here you can find a wealth of restaurants, night clubs, cinemas, swimming pools and shopping opportunities to suit all tastes. Pontivy is the only town in France to be named after Napoleon Bonaparte and is built on the attractive Nantes-Brest canal and Blavet river system. The town also has an interesting chateau and museums.

Approximately 12 miles away lies the pretty medieval town of Josselin with its imposing Chateau ramparts and doll Museum. The nearest beaches to Kerfourn are about 35 minutes drive away but what beaches they are!

JOAN - 2 bedrooms, Sleeps 4.

One of the caves attached to the house was originally used for housing livestock and has been very tastefully renovated to provide a charming and comfortable fully equipped self-catering Gite for 4 persons.

The ground floor of the Gite consists of an open plan sitting/dining room with a typical French corner kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, gas cooker with oven, microwave oven and grill and a full range of labour saving devices. The dining and lounge areas are comfortably furnished for up to four people and the lounge is equipped with a radio/CDs music centre for your favourite tastes in music. There is also television and DVD player for which an up to date selection of films is available at no charge. A good selection of board games and reading material is available to suit most tastes. The ancient beams and solid oak floors have been preserved.

Upstairs are two comfortable and well appointed double bedrooms and a full bath/shower room with hand basin, bidet and W.C. All rooms are equipped with wall mounted electric convector heaters in the event of cooler evenings.

SHELLETH - 1 bedrooms, Sleeps 2.

A 150 year old building beautifully restored and renovated to provide comfortable and charming accomodation for two persons. 'Shelleth' consists of a lounge with fully equipped kichen and dining area, a television with DVD player and a stereo for all your favorite music. Upstairs there is a lovely double room with en-suite 'thermo/massage' shower, WC and hand basin. All facilities pertaining to our other gite on this site are available to guests off Shelleth.
