There is a lot to do in
the area - indeed I have had repeat bookings from people who have been
unable to fit everything in to their first holiday.
With children in mind:-There
are excellent sandy beaches at Trouville and Deauville. Swimming pools
in Pont Audemer (12minutes) and Honfleur (20 minutes). There is a large
lake at Pont-l'Eveque where you can swim, play on the little beach, take
a boat out or fish.
There is a Conservation
Parc/Zoo where animals can be seen in their natural habitat at Ouilly-du-Rouley
on the Cormeilles/Lisieux road.
Locally:- The small towns
of Epaignes and Lieurey are equidistant from the house. They both have
a good bread shop, butcher, chemist and general store with a small weekly
market. Pont Audemer has a medieval town centre and excellent twice-weekly
markets.
The smaller town of Cormeilles,
some ten minutes drive, is very pretty with a number of bars, restaurants,
antique shops and food shops. There is an excellent tour (in English)
of the Calvados factory.
For all:- Honfleur is an
extremely pretty seaside town, favoured by artists both in the past and
present. It has a lovely yachting harbour, cobbled streets, market, endless
bars and restaurants.
