Les Percherons is an old stone country house set in 2 acres of garden with a large terrace leading to lawns, borders and & swimming pool. Breakfast is served on the terrace or in our elegant dining room if the weather is wet.
Breakfast is continental style with bread & pastries from the local boulangerie & homemade jam. English breakfast can be provided (if you warn us the night before) at a small extra charge. Evening meals are usually available on request .
Whether you are pausing on your way to or from the south or intending to explore the beautiful area around Yzeures we will be happy to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Whether you want to sightsee or just lounge around the pool or mix the two we hope you will agree Les Percherons is the perfect base.
We are within a few minutes walking distance of the village which has boulangeries, a bar, post office, charcuterie, florist & a chemist. There is a supermarket with a petrol station on the edge of the village – about 5 minutes drive away & there are river walks, tennis courts and river bathing nearby. The spa town of La Roche Posay is only 4 kms away and has many bars & restaurants as well as a golf course and tennis courts.
The Brenne National Parc (known as ‘the land of a thousand lakes’) is on our doorstep & attractions such as the Loire Valley with its beautiful Châteaux & many vineyards, Chaumont (for the garden festival), Futuroscope, as well as Tours & Poitiers (for sightseeing & shopping!) are all no more than an hour away.
If you feel like a short break Ryan Air often have very reasonable flights to Tours & Poitiers, each about 1 hour away, and there are several car hire firms at each airport. We can arrange transport to and from the airport but please be aware that there is little public transport around the village. If however you want to walk or simply ‘lounge’ this may suit you.
Gite also available, one double & one twin bedroom, bathroom & fully equipped kitchen/diner. Outside courtyard with garden furniture, barbeque & full access to the gardens & swimming pool. All linen & towels are provided. We are able to add cots/small beds for children in some of the rooms – please do ask.
Large Terrace & Garden with swimming pool. Ideal stop over or base for exploring the immediate or extended surrounding area.
Location - Yzeures sur Creuse is on the D750 road running between La Roche Posay & Le Blanc, if you would like further directions from the ports/airports and a plan of the village showing the location of the house please ask when booking.
