First Floor: Stairs lead to 2 double bedded rooms. The yellow room overlooks the swimming pool and driveway. It has a large fitted wardrobe with sliding mirror doors. The large fully tiled shower room has a view towards the village and the sea beyond.
The second bedroom, "the pillar room" (so called because of the structural pillar at one side of the room) is decorated in soft tones of lilac and rose. This room has 2 windows, one view towards the mountains and the other towards the sea. It has fitted wardrobes with a bridging unit round the bed. It also has a fully tiled shower room. Both shower rooms have toilet, vanity unit and hydro massage jet showers. Beds are made up of sheet, pillows and duvet. Towels are supplied (1 bath and 1 hand per person).
From the top of the landing a door leads onto a patio. From the dining area downstairs the patio doors lead onto the terrace with awning where there is a table and chairs for outdoor dining. A BBQ is provided.
The pool has steps at either side of the shallow end with a "plage" from one set of steps to the other. The pool is 8x4.5 metres and the depth is 1 metre to 1.8 metres. There is a naturally shady corner by the pool under a beech tree.
The house is about 2km up a dirt road. This sort of road is extremely common in this part of France. It is used daily by the residents of our hillside as well as by the postman every day and the baker 3 times a week in summer. We even get a frozen food delivery van once a month! A naturist village lies further on up the road but they keep within the camp boundaries.

El Couloume is a detached house with a wonderful backdrop set in its own private grounds and sleeps 6/8 guests.
It must be one of the few houses in the area with a view directly of the high mountains and of the mediterranean.
It owes its strange shape to the fact that it was designed by a naval engineer with a penchant for submarines! Planning permission has been granted to turn the "periscope" into a roof terrace later on.
The house was completely renovated in 2003.
Ground Floor: entrance vestibule leading to the large sitting/dining/kitchen. The floor is tiled and the ceilings are pine clad. There is satellite TV with video recorder and DVD player plus a CD player and a selection of tapes. The dining table seats 6. The fitted kitchen has a gas range with electric oven and cooker hood. The microwave, dishwasher and large fridge are all built in. The freezer is in the "cave".
In the sitting area the settee converts to a double bed if required. The carpeted bunk bedded room is on ground floor level. It has en suite toilet, shower and vanity unit. At the bottom of the stairs is a laundry area with washing machine, sink and iron.
