A well-equipped ground floor one-bedroomed Gite that has been recently furnished which overlooks the River Boutonne. Your own private garden has a Patio with garden furniture, sunbeds and barbecue.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a fridge, toaster, kettle, cooker, and microwave, there is also a dining/living room with a double Sofa Bed and TV, DVD and Video (DVD's and Tapes available) and a fully equipped double bedroom.
Bed linen and towels are provided.
We can provide a travel cot and high chair for infants and laundry facilities are available.
We also have a lawned area with play area and space to play petanque. We can provide bats and balls if you feel energetic.
Located in the beautiful countryside of the Charentes Maritime (2nd sunniest place in France after the Cotes d'Azur) and within easy reach of Dampierre and St Jean d'Angely, Roger and Janice welcome you to La Maison de la Riviere.
It's the perfect place to have a well-earned rest or to explore and take advantage of the splendor of the French experience.
With plenty to do and see in the local neighbourhood - market days, festivals, cycle rides and forest walks or canoeing/kayaking on the River Boutonne. Close by is the Chives Forest with its Zoo that has a large collection of animals and birds.
Fishing is allowed in the Grade A river at the side of the property. The area is surrounded by beautiful countryside with fantastic birds and wildlife and of course the sunflower fields for which this region is famous. With plenty to do and see in the local neighbourhood - market days, festivals, cycle rides and forest walks or canoeing/kayaking on the River Boutonne.
For the artist in you the gardens surrounding your Gite and the river are ideal for sketching or painting. It is not unusual for everyone to join together for a drink and a chat in the evening, however if you prefer a quiet, or perhaps a romantic evening, each Gite has its own exclusive seating and barbecue area.
